About JDE
The Journal of Developmental Education (JDE) is a semi-annual peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the generation and sharing of knowledge and ideas related to the postsecondary developmental education community. JDE invites manuscript submissions from scholars and practitioners whose work is concerned with the practice, theory, research, and news of the postsecondary developmental community. A list of related topics can be found athttps://journals.library.appstate.edu/index.php/jde/about.
Manuscripts
JDE publishes manuscripts in the form of research articles, research briefs, and practice briefs. Editorial priority is placed on manuscripts that relate the practical significance of theory and/or research to teaching, learning, student experiences, student development, and making connections between research, practice, and implications. Research Articles should include an Introduction, Statement of Purpose, Literature Review, Theoretical/Conceptual Framework, Methodology, Findings/Results, Discussion and Conclusion, and Implications for Practice. Research Briefs should include the same components but focus more heavily on Methodology, Findings/Results, Discussion and Conclusion, and Implications for Practice. Practice Briefs provide readers with insight into the current and emerging practices implemented and/or experienced by practitioners. Submissions for practice briefs should include an Introduction, Overview of the Practice, Discussion of Practice-Related Specific Interventions or Strategies, and Implications for the Field of Practice. Authors' Guidelines can be found at
